Girl's Night

I am really behind in posting.  My little one is not feeling well.  Hoping tomorrow will be better for her.

Thursday night I had a Premier jewelry party.  Thanks everyone for coming.  It was great fun!  I am looking forward to picking out my jewelry!  Thanks Hope!

I tried some new Homemade Gourmet mixes for the food - yummy!

Caramel apple cheesecake

Chipolte cheese straws

Spinach artichoke dip

Ok, mine didn't look quite like that.  I made a cheesecake ball and served it with graham crackers.  I had cheese crackers instead of straws, but it was all good.

Oh, What a Year!

Yesterday my friend Karen and I visited the SHE event and went shopping.  I went to the event last year with my friend Rosemary, and it got me thinking about all the changes I have experienced.  At that time I had no idea that I would become a Mom.  My husband and I had pretty much given up.  But the Lord blessed us just a couple of months later!  Rosemary has moved to a different state.   I truly miss her.  Thank goodness for FB. :)

Well Karen and I had a great time shopping.   We both got new fall wreaths for our front doors.  I picked up Ava a few things including a humidifer.  Trying to help her stuffy nose.

Last year at the She event, I also met my friend Julie.  She was selling Homemade Gourmet.  I bought a couple of things.  Then, a few months later I started selling it too!  Great products for busy families!
I love decorating for fall.  Here are a few things I am working on.  I took an old wreath from last year and salvaged what I could - Before
and after.....

Here is an arrangement I made.

One more thing I am extremely proud of:

Remembering

Today was my Grandmother's birthday.  If she was still here she would have been 96 years old!  Grandma has been gone for two years now.  She passed away on Mother's Day morning.  We joked that Grandma had a thing about holidays.  Many, many  years ago she had a heart attack on Christmas morning!

I still miss Grandma so much and guess I always will.  I hope at times she can look down on us to see Ava, see our happy times.  She was such a great lady.  At 91 she was still working in her yards!  She could out do me any day.  She took great pride in growing things and keeping her yard looking nice. She was also a good cook.  I remember as a child going to her house for Sunday dinner.  Fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and homemade buttermilk biscuits.  Yum!  At Christmas she would fix fruit cake, cheese straws, and dressing.  My mom still uses her dressing recipe today.

I was very blessed to have her for a grandmother and be able to have her in my life for so long.   Grandma went to church faithfully and read her Bible each day.  She clipped coupons before it was all the rage!   She made quite an impression on all that knew her.  Happy Birthday Grandma!

Things I Never Knew

I never knew how exhausting it would be to be a working mom!  Wow!  How do you get anything done?  I also never knew how hard it would be to leave her at daycare.  I miss her so  much.  I never knew how much love I could feel for a child.  That got me thinking about the love that God has for us.  It is so huge it really is beyond comprehension.  We are all so blessed to have such a loving Heavenly Father.  I am so thankful that He blessed our family with Ava.  I pray for His guidance as I begin the journey of raising her.

It's all about the Smiles!

Now that Ava has started smiling, all we want to do is get more smiles!  They just make our day.  I haven't really gotten anything accomplished today, but I don't really care.  Being with Shon and Ava and seeing those grins and hearing her coo is all I need.

Out to Lunch

Yesterday, I took the day off from work to spend sometime with my girl.  First we went to get my haircut then we met my friend Karen and her daughter Kate for lunch.  It was so nice to just be able to go out and have some fun!

Days like this are a special treat!
